Aya Sofia (Hagia Sophia)
This monument was built during the reign of Emperor Justinian (532-537 AD) when the Byzantine Empire was the one controlling the affairs of the state. The mosaics left by the Byzantine are still there in the city of Istanbul and very much intact. This monument was converted into mosque after the conquest of Constantinople. Grand Bazaar
Grand Bazaar was built in 1453 by Mehmet II after he defeated Istanbul. Today, it is one of the sights you need to see in the heart of Istanbul, it is now filled with banks, restaurants, shops, a mosque, a post office and even a police station.


Topkapi Palace
The building of this majestic palace started after the conquest of Constantinople by Mehmet II and then completed in 1465. The palace was located very close to some of the best hotels you can find in Istanbul. It also serves as the seat of governance and the sultan’s private living quarters. Topkapi Palace was converted to museum in 1924 and now you can see all the collections of Mehmet II ranging from jewels, imperial costumes, religious relics and ceramics.


Basilica Cistern

Chora Church (Kariye Camii)
